For Sale at The Firearm Files we have a Used Lee Enfield No. 1 MKIII 303 British Rifle, from WWII. This rifle has the GRI Crown stamping on the left side of the receiver and the digits FR42 which indicates the rifle was refurbished for the war in 1942 by the factory in Ishapore Indai which was under British Control, the GRI stands for" Georgius Rex Imperator" which in Latin means King George VI who at the time reigned of the British territory. This rifle is in excellent condition as pictured and includes the military sling.
Condition: We would rate this gun at 97% condition, it has normal wear from being a service rifle, in fact maybe less than normal wear. The gun has a good bore, it shows solid lands and grooves but does need cleaned. The stock does not have any cracks that we can see and feels solid. The Bolt functions good, this gun will fire nicely. Bluing is all original, there is no rust or pitting we can find. The rifle has an adjustable rear sight, and a front sight blade.
