Smith & Wesson built the Military & Police, the model 10 as a Service Weapon for the US Military and Police forces. This would be designed to be a daily carry sidearm for MP and Police officers, and was very popular within New York City and other large City departments. The revolver features a 4 inch tapered barrel, with fixed sights. This gun is Ex NYPD, on the backstrap there is a number stamped 1408. We have been educated by a Collector in these Firearms that this is a designation that the NYPD did on their sidearms to number them, for the officers.

Sellers Notes: This gun is in Great condition, and has all the original Blued finish and Original Grips. We rate this gun at 94%, there is bluing loss in various spots, the grips also show wear. This would make for a great collectors piece, for a guy that wants to also shoot it. Inside the crane it is stamped 5, there is an X, and the number 35011. The bore is great condition, rifling is strong and visible. For an exact on condition, please look at the pictures. There appears to be a small amount of pitting on the left side of the frame. This is an all original gun, what you see is what you get!
