Used and For Sale at The Firearm Files we have a Vintage Winchester Model 47 Rifle in .22LR. This rifle was built between 1948 and 1954, a six year span where Winchester built around 43,000 of them. There is no serial numbers on this gun, but it is C&R Eligible. The condition is good, there are no stock cracks, and the finish is all original. This rifle is a single shot model, with a 25" barrel and open sights. The blued finish does have some wear, turning bright in areas. The barrel is stamped Made in New Haven, Connecticut, Winchester, Model 47, U.S. of America, Trade Mark, 22 S, L, or LR. We rate this gun at 95% condition, estimate the value around $450. The butt plate is also original with the Winchester Repeating Arms Company logo in the center. The gun is interesting, in that the manual safety is automatically on safe when you cycle the bolt to reload each round, you then push the safety forward and fire the gun. The bore is clean, no rusting or pitting and there is solid lands and grooves.
